Air Conditioner
Crane Lift Perth.
Australian Premium Logistics lifts air conditioning units onto roofs across Perth with a truck-mounted HIAB crane. Our Palfinger PK 15500 lifts up to 6,200 kg close in and 1,690 kg at its full 8.0 m reach, so the unit's weight and how far the roof sits from the truck decide the lift. Ben or Ryan run the crane themselves. Send a photo and the unit's weight for a firm price.

Rooftop Units We Lift.
The same crane truck that does our HIAB hire across Perth handles rooftop plant for installers, builders and homeowners. Rooftop units are one of many jobs our crane truck hire in Perth covers, and homeowners booking a one-off lift get the same truck through our residential crane truck hire.
- Air conditioning condensers and outdoor units going onto a roof.
- Commercial HVAC units and rooftop plant.
- Old units lifted down when they are being replaced.
- Solar gear and other rooftop units.
Weight And Reach Decide The Lift.
Crane capacity falls as the boom reaches out. A light unit landing deep across a roof can be a harder lift than a heavier one landing right beside the truck. The chart shows the rated figures from the crane's data plate.
Find the unit's weight on its spec sheet or nameplate and add the frame or rigging if there is one. Then check it against the distance from where the truck can park to where the unit lands. The chart gives weight at each reach. It doesn't give a height, which depends on how far back the landing spot is and what the boom has to clear on the way. Actual limits on site also depend on the ground, the overhead clearance and where the stabiliser legs go. The crane's full load chart sets out every figure, with the tray size.
| Reach | Std Mode | Mode B |
|---|---|---|
| Close in | 6,200 kg | 6,100 kg |
| 4.5 m | 3,260 kg | 3,140 kg |
| 6.1 m | 2,380 kg | 2,250 kg |
| 8.0 m | Not rated | 1,690 kg |
Who Does What On The Day.
Australian Premium Logistics brings the crane truck and does the lift. The unit is rigged at its lifting points, lifted from the tray or the ground, and lowered onto the roof where your installer wants it. If an old unit is coming off, it can come down on the same visit.
The lift is what we quote. The work either side of it, isolating and disconnecting the old unit, preparing the roof, and connecting and commissioning the new one, sits with your installer. Have someone on the roof who knows exactly where the unit is going to sit.
If the building manager or head contractor needs paperwork or an induction before the lift, tell us when you book so Ben can confirm what is needed.
What Can Stop A Rooftop Lift.
Power Lines
A crane can't work under or near a live line, and that is not negotiable. Look at the street and the verge in front of the building before you book.
Nowhere Stable To Set Up
The stabiliser legs need firm, level ground. A soft verge, a steep camber or a service pit under the only flat spot changes the plan. If the only place for the truck is a busy road or a footpath, say so when you book.
Reach Beyond The Crane
If the landing spot is further from the truck than the chart allows at the unit's weight, it is a larger mobile crane job, and we will tell you that rather than attempt it.
Trees And Awnings
Trees, awnings and shade sails over the landing spot usually just need planning. Most of them are workable, and what really stops a crane truck on a tight Perth block is a short list.
How To Book An AC Crane Lift.
Send these and most rooftop lifts can be priced without a site visit. Call Ben on +61 416 692 022 or send us the details. If the lift won't work from the street, you hear that before anything is booked.
- 01 The unit's make and model, or its weight.
- 02 A photo taken from where the truck would park, showing the roof and anything overhead.
- 03 Where the unit lands on the roof.
- 04 Whether an old unit is coming down first.
- 05 The date your installer is booked.
What Our Trucks Have Actually Done.
The Truck And Crane
- Our Hino 500 crane truck carries a Palfinger PK 15500 crane. Tray 7.8 m by 2.4 m.
- The crane lifts up to 6,200 kg close in, 3,260 kg at 4.5 m and 1,690 kg at full 8.0 m reach. Where the truck can park decides a job as much as the weight does.

How Much Does An Air Conditioner Crane Lift Cost?
Australian Premium Logistics prices each rooftop lift as a job, so there is no set rate. The price comes from the unit's weight against the reach it needs, where the truck can stand, what is in the way, and how long the visit takes. A lift that lines up with your installer's day is the quickest version. Send a photo and the unit's details for a firm price, free and with no obligation.
Can You Lift An Air Conditioner Onto A Two Storey Roof?
It depends on the distance more than the storeys. Australian Premium Logistics' crane reaches 8.0 m and lifts 1,690 kg at that reach. What decides it is how far the landing spot sits from where the truck can park, and what the boom has to clear. Send one photo from the street showing the roof, and Ben will tell you whether it is inside the crane's range.
Can You Take The Old Unit Down At The Same Time?
Yes. Lifting the old unit down is the same lift in reverse, so it can happen on the same visit as the new unit going up. Tell Australian Premium Logistics when you book, and have your installer disconnect it before the truck arrives. If you need the old unit taken away afterwards, ask when you book.
Who Connects The Unit After The Lift?
Your installer. What Australian Premium Logistics quotes is the lift: the truck, the crane and the placement on the roof. Disconnecting the old unit, connecting the new one and commissioning it is licensed work for your installer. Book the crane for a day your installer is on site, so the unit goes straight from the truck to its final spot.
