Water Tank
Delivery Perth.
Australian Premium Logistics delivers and places water tanks across Perth with a HIAB crane truck. The crane lifts the tank over the fence, carport or house and lowers it onto its stand or pad, so it never has to fit through the side gate. Every tank job comes down to its weight and how far the crane has to reach. Send a photo and the tank's size for a firm price.
- 6,200 kg Lift
- 8.0 m Reach

Tank Jobs We Do.
Water tanks run on the same truck as the rest of our crane truck hire in Perth, so if you have other gear to lift on the same visit, tell us when you book.
- Rainwater tanks lifted into the backyard.
- Tanks and pump sheds placed behind the house.
- Tanks lowered onto a stand or a raised base.
- An existing tank moved to a new spot, once it is drained and disconnected.
How A Tank Lift Works.
The truck parks on the street or the driveway, as close to the stand as it can safely get. The stabiliser legs go down on firm ground. The tank is rigged so it lifts level, then it is lifted, swung over the obstacle and lowered slowly onto the stand, guided by hand at the end. Once it is sitting right, the rigging comes off and the truck packs up.
The lift itself is often only a few minutes. Most of the visit is set-up and positioning, which is why a ready site keeps the job short.
Weight, Reach And Why The Tank Must Be Empty.
Crane capacity falls as the boom reaches out. Our Palfinger PK 15500 lifts up to 6,200 kg close in, 3,260 kg at 4.5 m and 1,690 kg at its full 8.0 m reach. A poly tank is light for its size, so for most poly tanks the reach and the access decide the job. Steel and concrete tanks weigh far more than poly, so tell us the material and Ben will check it against the chart before anything is booked. Every figure is on the crane's load chart.
Water weighs a kilogram a litre. A tank with 1,000 litres still in it carries about 1,000 kg of water on top of its own weight. Every tank is lifted empty.
Getting The Site Ready.
Most tight Perth blocks still work, and what stops a crane truck on a tight block comes down to a few things: power lines, nowhere stable to set up, and reach.
- Have the stand or pad finished, level and ready. If the base isn't ready, the tank has to be set down somewhere else and moved again, which means paying for two visits.
- Look up. Power lines over the street, the verge or the yard are the most common thing that stops a lift, and a crane can't work under or near a live line.
- Check for big trees, patio roofs and pergolas between the street and the stand.
- Move your cars, and ask the neighbours to move theirs if the truck needs that frontage.
- Book your plumber for the connection. That isn't part of the crane job.
Lining Up The Tank And The Truck.
Tell us where the tank is now and how it is getting to your place. Ben will confirm how the lift lines up with it, so the tank lands on its stand once.
Our crane truck's tray is 7.8 m by 2.4 m. If the tank is wider than the tray, tell us up front.
How To Get A Water Tank Delivery Quote.
Call Ben on +61 416 692 022 or send us the details. Ben or Ryan come back with a firm price and tell you straight if the lift won't work.
We price every tank lift as a job: water tank delivery cost in Perth comes down to the tank, the reach and what is in the way, the same few things that set what crane truck hire costs in Perth.
- 01 The tank make and model, or its diameter, height and weight.
- 02 Where the tank is now.
- 03 A photo taken from where the truck would park, showing anything overhead.
- 04 A photo of the stand or pad, if it can't be seen from the street.
- 05 The date the base will be ready.
What Our Trucks Have Actually Done.
The Truck And Crane
- Our Hino 500 crane truck carries a Palfinger PK 15500 crane. Tray 7.8 m by 2.4 m.
- The crane lifts up to 6,200 kg close in, 3,260 kg at 4.5 m and 1,690 kg at full 8.0 m reach. Where the truck can park decides a job as much as the weight does.

Can You Lift A Water Tank Over My House?
Sometimes. It depends on how far the stand sits from where the truck can park and what the crane has to clear on the way. Australian Premium Logistics' crane reaches 8.0 m, so some over-house lifts are inside its range and some are not. Send a photo from the street and one of the stand, and Ben will tell you which it is before you book anything.
Do You Connect The Tank To The Downpipes Or Pump?
No. Australian Premium Logistics delivers the tank and places it on its stand or pad. Connecting it to the downpipes, the overflow and any pump is your plumber's job. Book the plumber for after the lift, and have the base finished before the truck arrives, so the tank lands once in its final spot.
Can You Move A Tank That Is Already Installed?
Yes, once it is drained and disconnected. Water weighs a kilogram a litre, so a tank has to be completely empty before Australian Premium Logistics lifts it. Have your plumber disconnect it, tell us where it is going, and send a photo of both spots. The crane lifts it from its old stand and sets it down on the new one.
What Does Water Tank Delivery Cost?
Australian Premium Logistics prices each tank delivery as a job, so there is no set rate. The price comes from the tank's size and weight, how far the crane has to reach, what is in the way, and how long the visit takes. Send a photo and the tank's details for a firm price, free and with no obligation.
