The Tank's Size And Weight
Send the make and model, or the diameter, height and weight from the spec sheet. Poly tanks are light but bulky, so the size matters more than the weight. Steel and concrete tanks weigh far more than poly, so tell us the material and Ben will check it against the crane chart before anything is booked. Our crane truck's tray is 7.8 m by 2.4 m. If the tank is wider than the tray, tell us up front.
Empty Means Empty
Water weighs a kilogram a litre, so 1,000 litres left in the bottom of a tank adds about 1,000 kg. Our Palfinger PK 15500 lifts 1,690 kg at its full 8.0 m reach. A tank is only ever lifted empty. If you're moving an existing tank, have it drained and disconnected before the truck arrives.
Reach From The Truck To The Stand
Tanks go on the same HIAB truck as the rest of our crane truck hire in Perth. The crane works from wherever the truck can stand safely, usually the street or the driveway.
